Why I added it
The night environment is not static. Oil and gas development, lighting and industrial activity can erode darkness, so this page also tracks the conservation side of the experience.
How to use this stop
This is an independent addition, not an attempt to redraw the official trail. It belongs here because a road trip is more useful when it can acknowledge excellent night-sky places just outside the certification map.

- Legal parking and nighttime access.
- Weather, road and seasonal closures.
- Private-property boundaries.
- Local fire, wildlife and land-management restrictions.
- Whether a current public program actually exists before promising one to your group.
